For Irene, it was another skydiving adventure to add to the list, however it was Anne’s first time.
“I have always wanted to do it and then when Irene told me Skydiving was coming to Glen Innes, I thought why not,” Anne said.
And just before they took off in the plane, Anne’s last word was “help”.
But after jumping from 10,000 feet, strapped to the instructor, Anne said it was a lot of fun.
“I don’t think I’ll ever do it again though, maybe if I was younger I would,” the 64-year-old said.
“It was really good jumping out, but I didn’t realise it would be as cold as it was up there.
“I felt like I was fighting to breathe at first because it just took my breath away.”
After Irene landed, she wanted to go up again that afternoon.
“I just love it, I am addicted to skydiving,” the 51-year-old said.
When asked what her next adventure would be for the Glenwood residents to watch, Irene replied with “it’ll be hang gliding next”.
