SMILES were plentiful at Sylvan Woods Aged Care Facility, Birkdale, when Santa dropped in for a visit during the residents' Christmas party, spreading cheer and giving every resident a gift bag.
Facility manager Debbie Williams said residents had a great day being treated to a delicious morning tea of traditional Christmas fare, including Christmas cake and rum balls, which the residents had made previously in their cooking group, a lunch of party finger foods, and a happy hour afternoon tea of beer, wine, punch and cheese platters.
"There were multiple entertainers and a special highlight was the Sylvan Woods choir of residents, relatives and staff members," Ms Williams said.
"There were 30 people in the choir and they sang Christmas carols.
"They had a pianist and violinist accompany them and it was a real treat.
"It was a fantastic day and everybody had a lot of fun."
